Powering Europe’s new era

of nuclear development

SGE delivers the infrastructure behind Europe’s energy security through the rollout of small modular nuclear reactors using a standardized fleet approach. At the core of this strategy is the BWRX-300 SMR developed by GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy. Built on decades of operating experience, the BWRX-300 combines advanced safety systems with a compact design, delivering safe, clean, reliable, and affordable nuclear power at scale.

Working with industry partners, governments, investors, and communities, SGE translates proven nuclear technology into reliable power that strengthens industrial competitiveness and energy security.

BWRX-300

The BWRX-300 is a next-generation small modular reactor designed by GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy to deliver safe, reliable and clean power with exceptional efficiency.

Powered by commercially available fuel, the BWRX-300 features an innovative and simplified configuration, resulting in less concrete and steel needed for construction. The BWRX-300 is a cost- competitive solution that can be deployed for electricity generation and industrial applications, including district heating, desalination, and clean hydrogen production. It features significantly less capital cost per MW when compared with a typical water-cooled SMR and uses modular construction techniques.

The BWRX-300 can be constructed in 24-36 months while achieving a volume reduction in plant layout.
